Community Groups

Check In and Chat

Check In and Chat Call Volunteers provide friendly telephone calls and encouragement to reduce loneliness and improve a person’s wellbeing for up to 18 weeks. The calls will be from a different volunteer each time.

Companionship Calls Volunteers provide regular telephone support (up to 3 calls per week for 6 weeks) from the same volunteer. This is suitable for people who would benefit or prefer to speak to the same volunteer.

This support is suitable for people who may need a friendly chat and some encouragement to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

This support is not suitable for people who may need the continuity of the same volunteer calling (see Companionship Calls in the link below).

Community Health and Wellbeing Worker Service

We are excited to introduce the new Community Health and Wellbeing Worker (CHWW) service, a collaborative project by the East Cornwall Primary Care Network and the Lighthouse in Liskeard. Inspired by the successful Brazilian Family Health Strategy, our CHWWs are here to provide ongoing health and social care support to our community.

What can CHWWs help with?

  • Connecting with your local community
  • Addressing money and housing concerns
  • Offering advice or a chat over a cuppa
  • Providing veteran support
  • Sharing energy-saving ideas and devices for your home
  • Accessing mental health support
  • Learning new activities and skills

Our local CHWWs, including Trevor, Sally, and Georgia, are dedicated to supporting you with tailored resources and assistance. They will be reaching out to eligible patients soon, so please welcome them and feel free to engage with their services.
