We understand that the process of ordering and receiving your medications can be a little confusing, so here’s a quick guide to help clarify things:
🏥 Dispensing Eligibility
- If you live more than 1 mile from your nearest pharmacy, you can use our on-site Dispensary to have your medications dispensed directly by us.
- If you live within 1 mile of a pharmacy, your prescriptions must be dispensed by a local pharmacy of your choice (e.g. Boots or Day Lewis). These pharmacies collect prescriptions from us daily and begin their own dispensing process from that point.
📲 How to Order Repeat Prescriptions
We recommend using the NHS App for the quickest and easiest way to order your repeat prescriptions electronically.
Other options include:
- Filling out a repeat slip at the Dispensary.
- Dropping a written request into the front door letterbox or the box outside the Dispensary.
- Posting your request to us if you’re unable to visit or use the app.
Please include:
- Your full name
- Date of birth
- The medications you need (your green repeat slip is helpful here!)
⏱️ Processing Time
- Please allow 5 working days for us to process your request. This includes review and signing by a GP or pharmacist, and ordering medications if needed.
- If your prescription is going to an external pharmacy, their own dispensing timelines apply. We recommend ordering at least 10 working days in advance to ensure your medication is ready in time.
🕒 Dispensary Opening Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 6:00pm
- Closed daily between 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the surgery.
