 New IT System

The practice has decided to change its’ IT system, which stores all our patient records. The new system has a number of features that will make day-to-day working more efficient for staff, and help us to provide the best possible health care. It will also allow us to work more collaboratively with other practices in the area to offer extended services to patients.

The new system will require some changes.

Online Patient Services—The Waiting Room

Part of this new system means a change to how you access the Online Services we offer.   After the changeover you will still be able to book/cancel appointments, request repeat medication, and for those who have requested it, have access to your ‘Detailed Coded Record’ (*records dating back to 1st April 2015 only). However, during the changeover there will be a period of approx one week where no Online Services will be available via ‘The Waiting Room’ or the new ‘Patient Access’ system.

From Tuesday 2nd April ‘The Waiting Room’ service will be switched off.

  • If you need to book or cancel an appointment please contact our Patient Advisors on 01579 343133.
  • If you need to request a repeat of your medication please phone 01579 341924 (24hours a day) and leave a voicemail message, drop a paper request into the practice, or do so in person at the Dispensary. There will no longer be a 24hour voicemail facility from 6:30pm on Monday 8th April.
  • If you need to request your medication during the period following the 2nd April we strongly recommend that you request 2 months’ supply in March. The intention is for the new system to be available to patients from 9am on Tuesday 9th April.

Unfortunately, we are not able to simply transfer your Online Services accounts from ‘The Waiting Room’ to ‘Patient Access’.Ince we have changed systems, you will need to go to https://app.patientaccess.com/registration, enter your postcode, and select Rosedean House Surgery. You will then be asked if you have been issued a PIN document. These cannot be issued in advance, so please select “No”. We will then generate and send the PIN document, for you to complete your registration to Patient Access.

Time for adjustment

Many of the changes will happen behind the scenes and you will be unaware of them. Please be
reassured both acute and routine appointments will still be available during this time.
We will need to adjust some of our internal processes, and we may not get them right first time. Whilst staff get used to the new system it may take a few seconds longer to do everyday tasks, and your patience would be most appreciated.

Contacting the practice
Our phone numbers and emails will not change, so please continue to contact the practice as normal.

For non-urgent appointments you might want to use our online consultation system—eConsult. It is accessible by the “Consult our Doctors Online” link on our website at www.rosedeansurgery.co.uk. You will receive a response from the practice by the end of the next working day.
